Life Coaching and Teen Leadership Programs
Domestic Violence / Healthy Relationships
This program will teach about domestic violence: the willful intimidation, physical assault, battery, sexual assault, and/or other abusive behavior as part of a systematic pattern of power and control perpetrated by one partner against another. Participants will have an opportunity to visit shelters and have a dialog with survivors of Domestic Violence and their children.

Resiliency
Program participants will engage in the process and dialog exchange of adapting well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats or significant sources of stress—such as family and relationship problems, or serious health problems. Community advocates will engage to share their story of resiliency.

Role Models
Our youth may face challenges when attempting to identify appropriate role models because of the dilemma that African American youth face related to their relative exclusion and inclusion in American society. Having a role model was associated with fewer aggressive behavior and fewer anxieties and depressive symptoms among African American adolescents. Our conversation will be about the impact role models have on us, our development, and who the right role models to have are.

Conflict Management
Conflict normally occurs when a person's needs are not met, when there is a disagreement, or when there is a lack of knowledge about something. We will talk about how different people react to conflict and the best ways to resolve it.

Family Economic Success
There is a strong correlation between, employment, finances, and health as it relates to the well-being of the family. Families can thrive in communities when they are doing well in all three areas mentioned above. The effects of a family's economic situation will be explored.

Good Judgement and Decision Making
Decision Making: The action or process of making decisions/Choices especially important one. We will discuss strategies for making good decisions, which is a great skill to have as a leader and in the classroom and community.

Attitude - Beliefs - Values / Internal and External Factors
Many factors contribute to our attitude, beliefs, and values and shape the person we are. The effect how we experience the world and interact with people. We will delve deeper into the internal and external factors that define us.

Socioeconomic Status
Socioeconomic Status- Is an economic and sociological combined total measure of a person’s work experience and of an individual’s or family’s economic and social position in relation to others, based on income, education, and occupation. Examinations of socioeconomic status will reveal to participants inequities in access to resources, plus issued relation to privilege power and control.
