Rosalind Rayford Rosalind Rayford is a native of Dallas, Texas; Rosalind is married to her wonderful and supportive husband Calvin Rayford Sr. of 21 years and is a proud First Lady of the Four Winds Bible Church -Dallas. Rosalind earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Texas College, Tyler, Texas, in 1998. Rosalind has worked in the field of social services for over 20 years. In addition to her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Texas College, she has obtained several certifications to serve underserved communities. Rosalind is a certified Life Coach and a Couples Advocate through (SYMBIS) Saving Your MARRIAGE Before It Starts. Rosalind sits on several community boards to continuously advocate for families and youth in the communities she lives and works. Rosalind is the Founding Executive Director of the non-profit organization Lip Gloss for Love (501 c3) established in 2015. Rosalind realized it would take more to serve, and education was the key to leading people who would trust her to lead change and help build capacity in the community and genuinely engaged in change. In 2019 she earned a Masters’s degree from Texas A & M University-Commerce in Social Work (generalist) to understand a broader scope of serving the community.
Rosalind wanted a more extraordinary educational experience to continue her leadership growth through higher education and is currently attending Antioch University Graduate School of Leadership and Change to earn her Ph.D. Rosalind has set a three-part focus 1). Leadership in Corporate Change 2). Leadership in Higher Education; and 3). Leadership for Women of Color. Through Rosalind’s personal experience of family and intimate partner violence (IPV); she has a passion for women and young ladies who have been directly and indirectly impacted by Domestic and Intimate Partner Violence. Domestic Violence has a significant impact on mental health and has shown long-lasting effects. The effects of domestic violence and mental health holds captive every aspect of the human ability to function. Understanding through experience how quickly the human mind can be exhausted, and the physical body can have the ability to sustain. Rosalind’s hope is to Empower and Encourage every person that receives services from Lip Gloss for Love to be aware of their mental stability and become faithful to themselves by seeking professional guidance when needed or recommended. In 2021, Rosalind took a leap of faith and out of obidenace began to work in her organization Lip Gloss for Love full -time as Executive Director. This choice was to become more impactful to her community and the families she serves. Rosalind has now become certified as an Anger Management and Domestic Violence Specialist. With the overturn of Roe vs Wade, Rosalind personally understands the longterm affects of abortion and is preparing Lip Gloss for Love to serve men and women who have experienced abortion (s) to provide support services including healing, forgivness, and support services for future childbirth. |
